Attorney Kevin Murray
Kevin A. Murray is a judge, attorney, law school professor, real estate developer, film producer and philanthropist. His practice focuses on civil litigation with a high concentration in personal injury, real estate and entertainment law. His practice specializes in representing individuals who have been seriously injured or killed due to negligence. Murray also represents individuals in the areas of auto accidents, defective drugs, defective products, workplace accidents, maritime accidents, OSHA refinery process safety management compliance, and petrochemical and refinery accidents.
As a judge presiding over Harris County’s Tax Court, he is responsible for ensuring taxpayers rights are upheld.
At The Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Murray is an entertainment law professor. This position allows him to instruct students regarding the practice of entertainment law and the representation of talent (including producers, writers, actors, directors and other personnel) in law firm.
Working on construction projects all over Houston, he derives his passion and experience for real estate from his experiences as a former owner of a mortgage company and former fee attorney for a title company.
Murray is also a television and film executive producer. He holds production credits on three feature films, ‘River Runs Red’ (starring Taye Diggs, George Lopez and John Cusack, November 2018), ‘Hell On The Border’ (starring David Gyasi, Frank Grillo and Ron Perlman, (December 2019) and ‘A Day To Die’ (starring Bruce Willis, Leon, Kevin Dillon, Johnny Messner and Frank Grillo, March 2022). He is currently producing several television and film projects in various stages of production.
Murray received his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey and his law degree from Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law. Murray is admitted to practice law in the United States Supreme Court, United States Tax Court, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for the Southern, Northern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, and all Texas State courts.
Through his many philanthropic endeavors, Murray supports organizations like Career Gear, World Affairs Council, Central Care Community Health Center (Chairman of the Board 2016-2018), Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Cronhn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, Texas Children’s Hospital, Greater Houston Women Chamber of Commerce, United Negro College Fund, Sisters Network Inc., Perfect Connection, Fort Bend Chapter of The Links, Inc., Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.’s Education and Charities Foundation of Houston, and many more.
